Your Hosts – Doresia Krings & Manuela Krings-Fischer
At the age of 16, Doresia went abroad for one year to study in Ohio in the United States, where she graduated from her American school. Back in Austria, she skipped a grade and finished her final apprenticeship examination in 1995 and then finished her “Matura” at the Elizabeth Institute (HBLA) in 1996.
In 1997, Doresia took her athletic talent to a professional level and by 2000 had joined FIS. After 12 successful years as a professional with:
- 1 World Cup Victory
- 3 Discipline World Cup Victories in Snowboardcross and in Parallel Competitions
- 43 Podium Finishes
- 3 WC Medals
Doresia ended her career in January 2009, but then went on to participate in the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver one last time before completely devoting herself to her family again.
Doresia began training for her future careers while she still had an active racing career. In 2008, she completed a training to be a “Kontrollerin” or inspector in Austria. She also trained to be a systemic coach at the Kontrollerinstitut in Vienna as well as finishing at the Unternehmerakademie of ÖHV in 2012.
As of 2012, she is one of the three directors of the Gebrüder Krings Bergbahnen GmbH and is responsible for managing the main offices as well as Kringsalm.
After completing Hotel Management School in Bad Hofgastein in 2000, Tom moved to London and worked there for four years for Le Meridien Hotels in reception, reservation and event management.
After finishing his civil service as a medic with the Red Cross in Radstadt and one winter season at Hochalm, Tom was eager to travel again.
The following two years he gained bartending experience in Barcelona. From Barcelona he moved to Vienna, where he worked in bars and organized a conference.
In 2008, he returned to Obertauern to bring some fresh ideas to the ski region.
